Survivor’s Rage

This poem is in remembrance of George Perry Floyd Jr., who was extrajudicially murdered on May 25, 2020 by the Minneapolis Police Department. This poem was also performed in Santa Ana, California in remembrance of Brandon Lopez, who was taken in similar fashion 18 months later by the Anaheim Police Department. With no name mentioned in this piece, all victims of police brutality are honored and revered. An excerpt of this poem is currently featured in George Floyd Square.
